Van: Original Architectural Drawings
Answer by: Hsiang (01/13/11)
Question: Good Morning
I have Several Original (Architectural) Drawings of the ORIGINAL WORLD TRADE CENTER, (BEFORE 911) Are They Worth Anything???
Answer: Hi Van,
Thank you for your question,
First of all, what do you mean by “original”? Since the world trade center was built before the days of CAD, original construction drawings would mean the stack of hand drawn ink on mylar drawings from the architect. Considering that they are quite weighty and unwieldy, not many of them survived or left the archive of the original architect. So if you manage to get your hand on a set, there will probably some value to it.
But if you are referring to the blue print of the plan, which is a duplicate made from the original mylar set. Then unfortunately it is not a terribly rare item, I myself had handle a few while I was working on a retail store at the world trade center. There might still be a market for it for the morbid curio seekers, but again if it’s a duplicate the rule of rarity wouldn’t really apply here.
