A Home is not just a place to keep all your stuff!
Aside from our curious obsession about closets (curious indeed! link) as fine home designers we are often asked about our opinion and feelings about home design in general. We thought; what better way to illustrate our interests by highlighting some of our favorite home design? Since I have deep affinity to water, we’ll start by talking about a wonderful pool side home design by the architecture firm MCK Architects base out of Australia.
Project Name: Honiton Home
Designer: MCK Architects
What Attracted Us to the Design?
The home is a curious combination of traditionally designed colonial style home with a modern addition. Unlike many other transitional design the two portion of the home is relatively distinct from one and the other. But yet because of the design cue they share, such as details and color scheme, they bland seamlessly together. We loved the sense of simplicity and the use of warm material such as the stone wall which did a wonderful job of unifying the indoor and outdoor space. The spatial quality in the new living room addition is wonderful and modern but yet the proportion of the double height window was relatively traditional. Overall an interesting, comfortable and well design home. – Photography by Steve Back
